Ronald “Ron” F. Holt

Ronald “Ron” F. Holt, 68, of Marion, passed away at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Twin City Healthcare in Gas City. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, October 20, 1957, to Doyle and Lula (Bullard) Holt. On December 26, 1985, he married Janet (Patterson), who survives.

Ron graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1976 and later attended Ivy Tech in Wabash, where he studied trade. He built a lifelong career in construction, working many years as a dedicated and hardworking construction worker/handy man before retiring. Throughout his life, Ron also spent time working in Texas, Alabama, and Louisiana where he remodeled T-Mobile stores. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and traveling on the weekends. Ron and his wife, Janet, lived in Tennessee for nearly twenty years, creating countless memories together. They also enjoyed traveling, taking memorable trips to Hawaii, Colorado, California, and North Carolina. Ron was an avid Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, fisherman, a jokester with a quick wit, and a man who loved being outdoors, especially when he was playing softball. He helped coach softball for his daughter. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends. He was known for his kindness, gracious spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. His hardworking nature and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his mother, Lula Belle Holt; wife, Janet Holt; daughter, April (Brian) Ailes; grandchildren, Tyler (Alyssa Boan) Copas, Aaron (Latrell Rider) Copas, Katelynn (Chase) Bramel; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda  Powers; brother, Rick (Tena) Holt; several nieces & nephews; and cats, Ruby & Smokey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Holt.

At Ron’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
