
Roger Speicher, aged 78, of Wabash, Indiana, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of Clarence (Martha) Speicher and Ruth Ellen (John) Keefer. He was born January 9, 1948 in Huntington, Indiana.
He graduated from Andrews High School in 1966. He entered the army in 1966-1969. He fought in Vietnam from 1968-1969. While in Vietnam he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1971, he married Jane (Bomersback) Speicher. He was a man of many talents. He started his own construction company, Speicher Construction, Inc., he was a farmer. Some activities he enjoyed were hunting, woodworking, and fabrication. He enjoyed going to auctions to see what he could find, because he enjoyed scrapping metal. One of the things he liked best was problem solving in construction, working outside, and scrapping with his grandson. In his retirement, he enjoyed growing a large garden. He had an interest in car shows with his 1986 Ranger along with projects of rebuilding a camper and a boat.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, of 55 years, daughter Lori (Virgil) Mikel, sons Jacob (Christine) Speicher, and Andrew (Kristen) Speicher. He has 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Lamons, and sisters Chrisann (Elden) Heckler, Diane Dice, and Jennifer Ott. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers and a sister.
The family will grieve privately. Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington, Indiana with Fr. Tony Steinacker officiating. Grandstaff-Hentgen are in charge of the services.
