Investigation leads to multiple arrests

GRANT COUNTY, IN- On June 12, 2026, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation at 6518 S Strawtown Pike after deputies were called to the area to assist the Marion Police Department with an unrelated matter.

During the investigation, deputies developed probable cause and conducted a search of the residence. As a result of that search, deputies located approximately 56 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, a digital scale, cash, and a Glock 21 handgun.

The suspected methamphetamine was located in multiple packages, including larger quantities consistent with dealing activity. Deputies also located approximately 4 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with paraphernalia.

Four individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Grant County Jail.

Darol Sorah was preliminarily charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine over 28 grams with a firearm enhancement, Level 2 Felony

Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Level 6 Felony

Dealing Marijuana, Class A Misdemeanor

Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class A Misdemeanor

Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor

Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor

Brooke Kern was preliminarily charged with:

Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony

Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony

Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor

Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor

Michelle Rea was preliminarily charged with:

Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class A Misdemeanor

Possession of Fentanyl, Level 6 Felony

Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor

Kymberlie Caylor was preliminarily charged with:

Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class A Misdemeanor

“This case is a reminder of the serious impact methamphetamine and fentanyl continue to have on Grant County,” said Sheriff Del Garcia. “These drugs destroy lives, damage families, and create dangerous situations in our community. I am grateful for the work of our deputies and our law enforcement partners who continue to take these substances off the street.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
