Miami Correctional Facility gives back to local youth program

BUNKER HILL, IN — Miami Correctional Facility (MCF) recently demonstrated its commitment to supporting local youth and education by donating $1,000 to the Maconaquah Band Booster Club. This contribution will help support the Maconaquah High School band and color guard programs, which provide students with valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, teamwork, discipline, and musical excellence. Funds raised by the Band Boosters are used to assist with equipment, uniforms, travel expenses, and other program needs throughout the year.

The donation holds special significance for several MCF employees whose sons and daughters are actively involved in the Maconaquah band and color guard. These employees have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that participation in the performing arts has on students, both in and out of the classroom. Mr. Melanson who is responsible for IT at MCF and serves as the Booster Club President expressed his gratitude for the donation, and the facility’s ongoing support of local students. Community partnerships such as this help strengthen band program and provide students with resources needed to succeed.

Miami Correctional Facility remains dedicated to giving back to the communities it serves through charitable contributions, volunteer efforts, and partnerships that make a positive difference for local families and students.
