Wilson, Sr., 86, of Peru, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. He was born on July 11, 1939, to Allie B. and Mildred (Smith) Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George married the love of his life, Carol Ullrey, on July 4, 1959, and together they shared many devoted years of marriage and family life. He was a lifelong resident of Butler Township and a faithful member of Peoria Church. George dedicated his life to farming and took great pride in working the land. In addition to farming, he worked for 39 years at United Technologies, formerly known as Wagner&#8217;s, in Wabash. He also faithfully served for many years as sexton of Peoria Cemetery. George enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and treasured the time he spent with his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Wilson; his children, George Jr. (Kathy) Wilson, Stanley (Sheryl) Wilson, both of Peru, and Angela (Matt) Driscoll, of Urbana, Indiana; his grandchildren, Bridget (Eric) Camden, Kaitlin Driscoll, Tyler (Kiley) Wilson, Shannah (Cale) Coryell, Danyel (David) Rush, Chase (Claire) Wilson, Emily (Trae) Cole, and Ryan (Bailey) Driscoll; his great-grandchildren, Samuel and Silas Camden, Auggie Coryell, Annie Rush, Eleanor Cole, and Renn Wilson; his brothers, Terry Hann and Allie Ray Wilson, and his sister, Lana Webb. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Wilma Wilson, and his sisters, Shirley Halterman, Nancy Gipson, and Amy Niccum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2026 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Brian Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Peoria Cemetery, Peru.
