When officers arrived, they learned the victim had already been transported by a private vehicle to Marion Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for advanced treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators say video footage captured the moments leading up to the shooting, showing an argument between two men that quickly escalated into violence. Authorities described the gunfire as reckless, noting that multiple residents in the area were forced to take cover outside their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police, after the shooting, the suspect struck the victim in the head with the handgun before fleeing the scene in a black SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspect has been identified as Chandell Davis, 51, of Marion. Detectives executed a search warrant at his residence, but he was not located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An arrest warrant has been issued for Davis on the following charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Attempted Murder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Aggravated Battery<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Battery with a Deadly Weapon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Pointing a Loaded Firearm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are urging Davis to turn himself in immediately at the Marion Police Department or the Grant County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information about Davis\u2019 whereabouts or details related to the incident is asked to contact Marion Police or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This remains an active investigation.
