Over the past year, DWI has taken meaningful steps to strengthen the downtown environment for businesses, property owners, and visitors alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key highlights include:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf Comprehensive Building Audit Completed <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DWI created a detailed audit of buildings within the district, organized by parcel, downtown core, River to Rails areas, upper-story usage, and tenant occupancy. This data-driven approach supports strategic planning and targeted investment.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf Facade Grant Funding Secured <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With support from the City of Wabash Redevelopment Commission; DWI secured $50,000 in fa\u00e7ade grant funding. Grants totaling over $49,000 were committed for 2025, generating a projected additional $114,000 in new private investment for downtown improvements.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf New Impact Investing Partnership<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A partnership with the Community Foundation of Wabash County now allows DWI to offer Impact Investing Loans to small downtown businesses and property owners, expanding access to capital for local growth.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf Funding Diversification Efforts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DWI has begun the process of securing a gaming license to diversify funding streams and support long-term<br>sustainability.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25cf Small Business Grant Success<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DWI\u2019s Executive Director assisted five small businesses with applications to the American Express Backing Small Businesses Grant program.
