Powell, 62, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 8:54 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. He was born to Earl L. and Mary J. (Miller) Powell on December 9, 1963, in Huntington, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fred worked at Wendt&#8217;s Crane in Wabash, Indiana. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fred is survived by one brother, John (Rebecca) Powell of LaFontaine, Indiana; and one sister, Brenda (Eric) Lantz of Paw Paw, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Powell.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Private graveside services for the family will be held at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McDonald Funeral Homes, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, have been trusted with Frederick &#8220;Fred&#8221; R.
