Bennett, 71, of Gas City, passed away in her home at 2:54 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 31, 1954, to James and Barbara (Cox) Kierstead. &nbsp;She married Teddy W. &#8220;Ted&#8221; Bennett, who preceded her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rena worked at Delta Electric in Marion and had owned\/operated a small daycare in her home. Rena enjoyed going to rummage sales and flea markets. She also like doing puzzles. More than anything, Rena was a loving wife, mother and grandmother throughout her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rena is survived by her son, Justin (Malissa) Bennett of Gas City; grandchildren, Jessica Bennett, Gabrielle Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Brody Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Mason Bennett, Anna (Jay) Smith, Kayla (Jacob Voight) Bennett, Chandler Medrano, Cassie Bennett, Cory (Angie) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Kylinn and Mia; brothers, George (Deverly) Kierstead, Steven (Gwen) Kierstead, Roger Kierstead; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Barbara Ann Kierstead; husband, Teddy W. &#8220;Ted&#8221; Bennett; son, Jacob W. Bennett; brother, David Kierstead; and best friend, Kathy (Tom) Dixon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Rena&#8217;s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. She and her husband&#8217;s remains will be inurned at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral &amp; Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memories may be shared online at www.nswcares.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To send flowers to the family of Rena K.
