Indiana County Historians are volunteers officially appointed by<br>the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) and the Indiana Historical Bureau (IHB) to<br>promote local history within their counties, connect individuals and organizations<br>with historical resources, encourage collaboration among local history groups, and<br>maintain active connections with statewide historical institutions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alec has been a full-time employee of the Wabash County Museum since August<br>2022 and is an avid researcher of Wabash County history. He completed archival<br>internships as both an undergraduate student at IPFW (History) and as a graduate<br>student at IUPUI (Library &amp; Information Sciences). In addition to his work at the<br>Museum, Alec serves as president of the LaFontaine History Club and vice<br>president of the Paradise Spring Historical Park Board. He also authors the<br>Museum\u2019s monthly newsletter, Second-Hand Stories, which explores unique and<br>often overlooked stories from Wabash County\u2019s past.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of his work to share Wabash County\u2019s history in engaging and accessible<br>ways, the Museum has launched a new TikTok series titled \u201cAsk Alec.\u201d Through this<br>series, Alec visits locations across Wabash County to highlight the history behind<br>familiar landmarks and places, bringing local history directly into the community.<br>\u201cAlec represents a new generation of historians who are bringing rigorous research<br>together with public engagement,\u201d says Teresa Galley, Executive Director of the<br>Wabash County Museum.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, the<br>Wabash County Museum plans to celebrate this historic milestone by highlighting<br>Alec Guenin, the Official Wabash County Historian, as well as sharing the work of<br>other local historians and history advocates through a special social media series<br>throughout the year.
