During his residency, he was nominated by the Henry Ford Medical Association for the Peter Cogan Teaching Award in recognition of his dedication and exceptional achievements as a physician, researcher and teacher. Among other awards, he also received the Gentle Hands Award for his support of midwifery.\r\nPrior to medical school, Mugwisi earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in biology from Indiana University South Bend. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).\r\nPreviously, Mugwisi lived in the Peru\/Wabash area for nine years, providing women\u2019s health services at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He now provides holistic care in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology for Parkview patients in Huntington and Wabash.\r\nAway from the office, Mugwisi is an avid gardener. He and his wife have three young daughters, and the family enjoys traveling, playing card games and watching movies together.\r\nIn Huntington, Dr. Mugwisi\u2019s office is located in the medical office building adjoining Parkview Huntington Hospital, 2003 Stults Road, Suite 215.
