A preliminary investigation by Trooper Russell revealed a 2007 Ford Focus driven by James Sturgill, 53, of Wabash, IN, was traveling eastbound on Wabash Road, east of Paw Paw Pike in Peru, IN. Sturgill\u2019s vehicle struck a pedestrian, who was identified to be Beverly Bowen, 80, Peru, IN. Despite life-saving measures, Bowen was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Notification to the family of the deceased has been made. Sturgill did not sustain any injuries. The information above is preliminary and the investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information to be released at this time.\u00a0At this time, alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash. However, toxicology results are pending at this time.
