The statistics reinforce the need for drivers and pedestrians to stay alert and obey<br>warning devices.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFifteen years of Indiana Rail Safety Week gives us a lot to celebrate, but our mission remains<br>just as important today,\u201d said Jessica Feder, Executive Director of Indiana Operation Lifesaver.<br>\u201cThis year we are expanding our efforts across the state with volunteers, law enforcement,<br>railroads and community partners. Our goal is to give people the information they need to make<br>safe decisions around tracks and trains and prevent tragedies before they happen.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the week, Indiana Operation Lifesaver, Indiana State Police, local law enforcement,<br>first responders, railroad partners and volunteers will participate in events and educational<br>activities across Indiana. Outreach will focus on crossing safety, trespass prevention, professional<br>driver education and safe behavior around tracks and trains. Operation Clear Track on Tuesday,<br>Sept. 22 will bring additional law enforcement attention to crossing-safety and anti-trespass laws.<br>Indiana Operation Lifesaver extends special thanks to CSX, CN, Pinsly Railroad Company and<br>Indiana Rail Road for providing additional support for this year&#8217;s anniversary campaign, along<br>with all railroads, law enforcement, transportation, government, volunteer and community<br>partners supporting Rail Safety Week activities across the state.<br><br>Indiana Operation Lifesaver is a nonprofit public safety education organization dedicated to<br>preventing collisions, injuries and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade<br>crossings through education and public awareness.
