Ybarra, 93, Marion, passed away at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Colonial Oaks Retirement Apartments. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, June 14, 1933, to Calvin and Florence (Lowe) Holland. On December 5, 1951, she married Christobal Ybarra who preceded her. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gladys graduated from Young High School and had been a member of Smithwood Baptist Church of Knoxville, TN for over 25 years. She was a gifted homemaker whose talents and generous spirit touched the lives of many. She loved embroidery and spent countless hours creating beautiful baby blankets and tablecloths, which she lovingly gifted to family and friends. An excellent cook and baker, she was well known for her angel biscuits, pies, and cakes, but her homemade tamales became legendary, earning her recognition in the Knoxville News Sentinel with a feature article celebrating her recipe. Gladys loved playing Bingo and was always ready for a game of any kind, playing with a competitive spirit with the attitude of &#8220;I&#8217;m in it to win it.&#8221; She was an avid wrestling fan and rarely missed a match. Even in her nineties, her enthusiasm for life never faded. Just before her 93rd birthday, she and her teammate, Steve Cummings, proudly won the gold medal in corn hole for Colonial Oaks at the Senior Olympics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Survivors include her children, Christobal John (Pamela) Ybarra, Emily (Tim) Wentz; special bonus daughter, Diane Hinkle of Marion; special nephew, Fred (Cathy) Cannon; special grandson, Steven (Chaya) Ybarra of Jonesboro; special great grandchildren, Scott Ehmer and Tobby Ehmer; and several additional grandchildren and great grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was preceded in death by her husband, Christobal Ybarra; parents, Calvin and Florence Holland; daughter, Jane Ybarra; son, Michael Steven Ybarra; sisters, Reba Lemons, Ellen Cannon, Willie McAmis, Helen Newman; brothers, Don Holland and Bruce Holland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral &amp; Cremation Service, North Chapel 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Gladys&#8217; life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. &nbsp;Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memories may be shared online at www.nswcares.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To send flowers to the family of Gladys B.
