Nukes, 89, Marion, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Colonial Oaks Health &amp; Rehabilitation Center in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, November 6, 1936, to James &#8220;Pete&#8221; and Alice (Butler) Perkins. &nbsp;On December 7, 1958, she married Thomas LeMoyne Nukes and he preceded her in death. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sandra graduated from Marion High School and attended Ball State University. She worked as a teacher&#8217;s aide with Marion Community Schools, retiring in 2000 after 25 years. Early in life she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at Bethel A.M.E. Church. &nbsp;She was a longtime faithful member of The House of Worship for All People. Sandra loved volunteering at Marion General Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She also served on the Habitat For Humanity Grant County Family Selection Committee for several years. &nbsp;&nbsp;She was &#8220;first lady&#8221; of The House of Worship for All People where she provided spiritual guidance for many, was involved in many activities of the church, and presented the Sunday morning announcements with passion. &nbsp;Sandra was a dedicated wife, a caring and loving mother, grandmother and sister. &nbsp;Her family felt her love and guidance throughout her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Survivors include her Sons; Antonio L. (Vanessa) Nukes of Holt, MI, Troy L. (Maryna) Nukes of Jeffersonville, Todd L. (Rebecca) Nukes of Granger, and Trent L. (Jodie) Nukes of Redlands, CA; sisters, Tanya Clemens and Alicia Gulliford both of Marion; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; brother, Jimmy Perkins; and sister, Sheila Casey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm &nbsp;on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at The House of Worship for All People, 1824 S. Branson St., Marion, IN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Sandra&#8217;s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Damian Jackson officiating. &nbsp;Burial will take place at IOOF Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion Lung Center 315 N.
