She was born on January 13, 1971, in Wabash, Indiana, to Charles Slagal and Nancy (Williams) Norman. On July 23, 2003, she married Wayne Howell, who survives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dawn was a graduate of Southwood High School and worked for many years in security at Dollar General. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman whose work ethic was admired by all who knew her. A self-described workaholic, Dawn deeply valued her coworkers and considered them part of her extended family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dawn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a devoted Starbucks enthusiast, always ordering her favorite Trenta Dragon Drink with no ice. She loved tending to her flower beds, spending time outdoors soaking up the sunshine, attending concerts, listening to all types of music, watching movies, and playing Bingo. An honest and straightforward person, Dawn was someone who always spoke her mind and made sure others knew exactly where they stood with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above all, Dawn cherished time with her family and friends. She adored her beloved animals, especially her favorite dog, Snowflake, and her treasured cats. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Even through life&#8217;s hardships, Dawn displayed remarkable strength and rarely complained, even when dealing with pain. She also had a unique passion for collecting pens, amassing bags and bags of them over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Surviving are her husband, Wayne Howell; daughters, Tori Flanigan and Brooke Howell; sons, Kenny (Brittani Hasty) Howell and Keith Howell; grandchildren, Kylynn Howell, Bryson Fanning, Kennedi Howell, Blaine Howell, and Miss Mae Howell; brother, Troy Slagal; her best friend, Tammy (Jon) Flanigan-White; along with Snowflake and her beloved cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Slagal; her mother, Nancy Norman; brothers, Chuck Stacy Slagal and Todd Slagal; and her uncle, David Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dawn will be remembered for her strength, honesty, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family, friends, and pets. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A celebration of life will be held at a later date to celebrate Dawn&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral &amp; Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memorial contributions may be directed to Grant County Cancer Society 305 S.
