She was born June 19, 1931, in Union City, Ohio, to Clarence and Zanna (Rhines) Woodbury.

On Aug. 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Hendricks. Family members fondly recall that after recently becoming a Christian, Robert attended church with his sister and brother-in-law, who hoped to introduce him to Norma. Before ever speaking to her, he saw her leading the choir from the back of the church. Captivated by the young woman, whom he said looked like an angel, Robert declared he would marry her. He did, and together they built a life that would span decades, leaving a legacy of faith, family, and love.

Norma graduated from Portland High School and was dedicated to raising and nurturing her family. Her faith in God was the foundation of her life and the center of everything she did. Quiet and humble by nature, Norma constantly covered her family in prayer, asking for God’s guidance and protection in their lives and, above all, that each would come to know Jesus as their Savior. Her prayer list extended far beyond her own family, as she faithfully interceded for friends, neighbors, and countless others throughout her life. She welcomed everyone into her home with mercy and without judgment, demonstrating the purest form of human love.

She and Robert both held pilot’s licenses and shared a love of feeling the wind in their hair, whether riding a motorcycle or traveling in a convertible.

In her mid-80s, she discovered a passion for painting and delighted in sharing her artwork with her children and grandchildren, gifting them pieces that remain cherished family keepsakes.

Norma was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous spirit, and boundless love.

Survivors include her children, Debby (Tony) Mack of Marion, Candy (Ronnie) Yurcak of Metamora, Joy (Ray) Myers of Marion, Robert (Connie) Hendricks of Hernando, Mississippi, Gary (Judy) Hendricks of Swayzee, and Pam (Mark) Hall of Fairmount; grandchildren, Chad Mack, Tiffany King, Joshua (Kathy) Roth, Cassie (Nate) Garrett, Audrey Stanley, Bradley Myers, Crystal (Matt) Hanna, Emily (Scott) Igleski, Melissa Myers, Jared (Christi) Hendricks, Evan (Stutzen) Hendricks, Caleb (Brynnan) Hendricks, Seth (Cameran) Hendricks, Carrie (Dale) Bradford, Christopher Hendricks, Courtney Hall, Tristan Hall, Meagan (Taylor) Haviland, and Mackenzie Hall; sister-in-law, Ruth Woodbury; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and countless others for whom her heart and home were always open.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Sylvester and Zanna Opal Woodbury; her husband, Robert E. Hendricks; siblings, Dick Woodbury, Bob Woodbury, Carolyn Bruening, and Jan Gibbel; and sons-in-law, Tony Mack and Ronnie Yurcak.

The family will receive visitors from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.

Immediately following the visitation, a service celebrating Norma’s life will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Chris Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.

Memories may be shared online at www.nswcares.com.

To send flowers to the family of Norma Jean Hendricks, please visit our floral store.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;text-align:center"
        data-ad-format="autorelaxed"
        data-ad-client="0531879237494766"
        data-ad-slot="9212395598"></ins>

Norma Jean Hendricks, 95, of Marion, peacefully entered the presence of her Savior at 12:07 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
