He was born on June 11, 1947, in Peru, Indiana, to Robert Miller and Jane (Overman) Biggs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dave was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a Disabled American Veteran. He married the love of his life, Doris Harris, on June 29, 1978, in Clintwood, Virginia. After three decades of dedicated service, he retired from GenCorp in Peru, Indiana. Dave was an active member of his community, belonging to Grace Fellowship Church, the Lagro American Legion, the Wabash VFW, and the Wabash Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. He found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of farming and the quiet peace of fishing, two passions that grounded him throughout his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is survived by his wife, Doris Miller of Wabash, two children: Andy Myers of Van Buren, Indiana, and Suzanne (Colson) Sheppard of Wabash; three grandchildren: Keith (Baylee) Myers, Tristan Myers, and Elizabeth Splatt, 9 great-grandchildren, two sisters: Carolyn Sanders of Marion, Indiana, and Nancy (Al) Smith of Wabash, and his brother, Gene (Carolyn) Miller of Converse, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Gatlon Burton officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset.
