Bosworth Jr., 34, of Marion, was arrested last week and booked into the Delaware County Jail on charges of rape, obstruction of justice and false informing. He is now being held without bond as he awaits an initial court hearing.

Court documents detail how Bosworth reportedly picked up a homeless 18-year-old on May 24 during a visit to Kokomo and took her to his home in Marion. Bosworth allegedly met the 18-year-old on Facebook after she posted about having no money or a place to stay.

The 18-year-old told police that Bosworth and his wife picked her up in a truck around 10 p.m. and drove back to Grant County. She reportedly spent the night at their home and was offered $100 to come help do work at a barn in Delaware County.

Bosworth allegedly drove the girl to Gaston to do work on a friend’s barn. Eventually, the alleged victim told police that she and Bosworth were alone in the barn and that he asked if she wanted to “fool around.”

Bosworth then allegedly began to sexually assault the victim, stopping only after hearing a noise near the barn door.

Court documents state that Bosworth then told the friend that the 18-year-old was refusing to do work and that she needed to be taken back to his house. While en route back to Marion, the 18-year-old texted Grant County 911 through the “Texty” app and said she had been raped.

Grant County officials reportedly reached out to Delaware County deputies, who then began looking for the truck that the 18-year-old was being driven around in. Eventually, Grant County deputies tracked down the truck and pulled it over.

Police said that, “after lying multiple times,” Bosworth finally admitted to portions of the assault and shouted that “cops freak him out.”

Investigators concluded that Bosworth did knowingly and intentionally cause the 18-year-old to submit to sexual conduct with him, which constitutes rape under Indiana law. He was then detained and booked into the Delaware County Jail on his preliminary charges.

Official charges have not yet been filed against Bosworth as of this article’s publication. If convicted of Level 3 felony rape, the suspect could face up to 16 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. His other charges of Level 6 felony obstruction and misdemeanor false informing carry lesser penalties.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;text-align:center"
        data-ad-format="autorelaxed"
        data-ad-client="0531879237494766"
        data-ad-slot="9212395598"></ins>

GASTON, IN— This from fox59.com: A Grant County man has been arrested on a preliminary rape charge after an 18-year-old girl claimed he picked her up, drove her across county lines and sexually assaulted her in a barn.
